Students who want to study at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden can now apply for KTH Scholarship. The scholarship covers the full tuition fee of a one or two year master’s programme. Recall that in 2022, 13 % of the scholarship applicants admitted to a programme were nominated for the KTH Scholarship (75 out of 564). The scholarship is competitive as the selection process focuses on academic excellence and drive to contribute to sustainable development.

Eligible Programmes for KTH Scholarship
KTH Scholarship is available for applicants to all programmes except for joint Erasmus+, EIT Digital, EIT InnoEnergy, EIT Urban Mobility and Nordic Five Tech programmes, and the joint programme Computer Simulations for Science and Engineering. However, applicants to some of these programmes can apply for the KTH Joint Programme Scholarship. Applicants for the joint master’s programmes in Molecular Techniques in Life Science, and Innovative Technology for Healthy Living (EIT Health) are eligible for the KTH Scholarship.
Eligible Countries
Qualified scholars from non-EU/EEA/EFTA countries are eligible for this scholarship.

Number of Awards
The number for KTH Scholarships to be awarded for 2023 edition is not yet specified but recall that in 2022, 13 % of the scholarship applicants admitted to a programme were nominated for the KTH Scholarship (75 out of 564).
Scholarship Benefits
The KTH Scholarship covers the tuition fee at KTH Royal Institute of Technology for the first and the second year, provided that the study results during the first year are satisfactory. The scholarship does not include living costs.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the scholarship you must:
- Be a citizen of a non-EU/EEA/EFTA country
- Be a fee-paying student at KTH Royal Institute of Technology
- Have applied for a master’s programme at KTH Royal Institute of Technology as your first priority
Note that students with conditional eligibility can also apply for the scholarship.
Application Instructions
If you are eligible for the KTH Scholarship, kindly visit the scholarship official website (below) between 1 December 2022 and16 January 2023 and apply. Ensure you fill your KTH Scholarship application form properly to avoid errors as applications with incomplete or erroneous information are not acceptable. You do not need to submit any additional documents since your application documents can be accessed at universityadmissions.se during the evaluation process.
Kindly note that only applicants who fulfil the admission requirements of the programme applied for are eligible for a scholarship. After submitting your application, you will be accessed on the following grounds:
- Grades (GPA or equivalent)
- The ranking of the university that awarded you bachelor’s degree
- Your motivation, relevant work experience and extra-curricular activities
- Through your motivation, how you will contribute to the sustainable development goals with a master’s degree from KTH
