The Institution of Education Centenary Masters Scholarships commonly referred to as the IOE Centenary Masters Scholarships are awarded to assist qualified scholars pursue their Master’s degree programmes at the Institute of Education, University College, London.
For the 2023/2024 academic session, IOE is offering Centenary Masters Scholarships for students who plan to work either in their home country or another country, to improve the circumstances of disadvantaged, excluded or underachieving citizens across the globe.
The scholarship authority is exited to partner with the International Students House (ISH) in offering these awards: IOE – International Students House Centenary Scholarship, and the Mary Trevelyan Centenary Scholarship in honour of the founder of ISH.

Applicants are to note that the scholarships are not available for the MA Educational Neuroscience or any online course.

Students from low or lower-middle income countries according to World Bank economic classification can apply.
Scholarship Duration
IOE Centenary Masters Scholarships are tenable for one academic year, subject to satisfactory progress.
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship covers only tuition fees and accommodation in a single room (shared bathroom) at International Students House. Candidates who have been awarded the scholarship will have to find other sources of funding to cover any other expenditure as the scholarship does not cover subsistence in London, travel, or any other costs.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates for the Institution of Education Centenary Masters Scholarships must:
- Be domiciled in an eligible low or lower-middle income country according to the World Bank classification
- Have an official unconditional offer to study a full time master’s degree at IOE (letter issued by University College London Admissions)
- Not have studied or lived in the United Kingdom before.
