Scholarship Benefits

Each recipient of the Carnegie Mellon University Australia Masters Scholarship will be provided with:

  • AUD $30,000 for 21-month masters degrees course, and
  • AUD $20,000 for 12-month masters degrees course.

Applicants are to note that:

  • Total tuition for 12-month tracks and 21-month tracks are payable via 3 and 4 study periods respectively
  • Cost per study period can change each academic year
  • Deferral of admission will incur tuition fees at the prevailing rate
  • The internship study period incurs no cost.

Eligibility Criteria for Carnegie Mellon University Australia Masters Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a citizen of Asian, South American or African country.
  • Meet the admission requirements for a CMU Australia full-time master coursework degree, either 12 month or 21 month tracks
  • Be accepted into a CMU Australia master coursework degree commencing in August 2022
  • Accept and have a proof of your CMU Australia’s offer letter and pay the deposit by required deadline
  • Not have deferred the commencement of your studies in the Carnegie Mellon University
  • Not have been offered any other CMU Australia scholarship or other government scholarships

Please kindly note that if a you withdraw from the master program before completion, you may be required to repay the value of the scholarship awarded.

Application Instructions

Applications are made online via the Application Portal. Follow the following instructions for your successful application:

  • Click here to select your study program
  • Check your program’s specific entry requirements
  • Provide documentation (or proof) of your completed undergraduate degree (bachelor’s degree or equivalent) from any accredited institution
  • Provide proof of your programming experience in an object-oriented programming language such as Java or C++ if your program is related to Information Technology
  • Have your proof of at least 3 years professional work experience if you are applying for 12-month tracks
  • Submit valid test results from either the GRE (General Test) or the GMAT from within the last five years
  • If your native language is not English, submit scores from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) – Academic or Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
  • Submit a one or two page summary of your education skills, accomplishments, employment experience and volunteer experience
  • Submit an essay (approximately 1,000 words) describing your academic and professional background, your career goals, and how the program will help you achieve your goals
  • Submit two recommendation forms provided from your employers, supervisors, professors, or others who are able to comment on your professional and educational goals and potential
  • Ensure your application is received by the Admission Office before the deadline.
